Glory, glory Chelsea… (Part I)

This topic has been circulating in my mind for quite a while. It happened ever since the hijack of transfer by Man City over Robinho which has been under Chelsea’s noses for quite a long while, or more of ‘for a bloody long time’.

This happens because of Mr Thaksin selling his shares of Man City to some bloody rich Arabs from the UAE. Well, as soon as this UAE guy (I don’t know his name and don’t bother knowning) was in control, many bids were made to numerous quality players, Ruud Van N. , Berba and Robinho to name a few. Almost all were accepted. They gave a blank cheque for Ruud Van N. . Blank Cheques = Any amount of money.

If I was Real Madrid, I would put the amount the UAE guy have on that Cheque and take it. Then he’s bankrupt and Man City is gone. How evil am I?

So, Robinho, as you all know was under Chelsea’s noses for quite a long time. Robinho was sulking and totally selfcentered over his future after the recent C. Ronaldo saga. So, Robinho was totally ready to go to Chelsea since Chelsea was the only apparent club to have given a formal offer which Real Madrid didn’t accept. They keep rising the price of Robinho after ever bid.

It’s near the end of the transfer window. The final day of the transfer window. Anything can happen. Many clubs raced against the clock to get the sufficient players for added firepower to the team. Everton was from silent, dormant club to a frantic club. They bought a promising Belgium guy. Singapore’s time and England’s time is totally different. I was waiting for the confirmation of Robinho’s transfer to Chelsea. So, feeling impatient, I went to chelseanews.com to know the results rather than wait for next day’s Newpaper. OMG, ROBINHO WENT TO MAN CITY!!!

Anyway, now I feel that Robinho may be dreaming when he signed that contract. Just look at the press conference on Robinho on Man City. He thought he was in Chelsea. Other than that, many players are critisizing his move to Man City, including the GREAT PELE and the Santos Manager.

Well, what had happen, happen. It’s just fate. So, some people are blaming the hijack done by the UAE guy, some are blaming Real Madrid, some are blaming Robinho’s money-minded mind while some are blaming Peter Kenyon. In my opinion, I would blame partly Robinho and Peter Kenyon. Remember this, Peter Kenyon was from Man Utd. He once was in the same situation when Man Utd was eyeing Ronaldinho from PSG. Ronaldinho was already under Peter Kenyon’s nose for some time, then suddenly Barcelona got him first. So Peter Kenyon was blamed for his over-confidence and also his arrogancy. Robinho, on the other hand was forcing his way for a transfer out of Real Madrid. Well, he have such rights to do so since a footballer’s career is short and knowning what is best for the player is well the player’s choice.

To be continued…
